I specialize in spotting plot holes and inconsistencies. I can assist with simple proofreading or editing. I also have a great deal of experience with eCommerce. I can help you with spotting those plot holes or inconsistencies. Plus, I can help you through the process of getting self-published and/or marketing your book. For example, did you know that you can make extra money when you make a sale on Amazon if you advertise your book yourself on social media?
Not too long ago, I was reading a dystopian novel. I was absolutely riveted by the story and reading as quickly as I could. Then, about half-way through, the author gave us an explanation as to why some people were surviving a plague, and more particularly, why certain people were surviving. The explanation was arbitrary and completely unbelievable. The author took what was shaping up to be a brilliant book and ruined it. I no longer had the same enthusiasm for the story and struggled to get through the remainder of the book.
It pained me to see a such a promising story fall apart. I want to help you make sure that this does not happen to you.
I am excellent at finding continuity issues. Much of my competition only focuses on grammatical issues. I can go beyond grammar. Plus, when you engage the competition, you often do not know who is working on your book. Consistency issues can happen when one person edits your first novel and someone else edits your second. One person will be editing your works here at editandreview.com..
I offer a signed Non-Disclosure agreement with every contract. I will not give or sell copies of your work to anyone. I will not publicly discuss or write about your book without your permission.
1. An author states that the female lead wasn't even born when the male lead was 12 years-old. We later learn that he is 31. This would make the female lead no older than 18. There is no way this character was only 18.
2. In book one of a trilogy, we are informed that the main character had not had never had sex with her ex-boyfriend. In book two, this information is contradicted and we are informed that she had.
3. An engagement ring is missing from the female lead's finger. About 200 pages later, the ring is back on her finger with no explanation.
4. A main character is holding a piece of paper with someone's secret written on it. The person whose secret it is wants it back. All of a sudden, the scene changes, but what happened to the slip of paper? There is no further mention of it.
5. The main character turned in her cell phone when she went to jail. After she escaped from jail, she has her cell phone back with no explanation as to how she has it.
6. A female sheriff is out early in the morning. She tells us she is not dressed appropriately to go to the station and lets us know that she acknowledges the need to go home and shower and change first. Then all of a sudden, she is at the station. We don't know if she went home first or not.
I could go on....
I graduated from high school in the top 10% of my class. I received a scholarship to college. While there, I tutored other students in English. I received an AA in General Studies and a BA in Psychology.
